(2) Two scholarships of $4,000 each will be awarded. The purpose of these scholarships is to recognize two outstanding, local high school graduating seniors who have a financial need in order to pursue a college education, trade school, journeyman, or apprenticeship. If the senior is planning to pursue a career in, or affiliated with, the field of construction, please note that in the essay submitted. Indian River High School students can contact Counselor Sonya Purcell, and Sussex Technical High School students can contact Counselor Wyatt Lowe for more information.
All candidates must provide: a complete application and an essay from which a winner will be selected.
The essay submitted should tell the selection committee about the applicant, current and future community involvement, reasons for their career choice and if it relates to the construction industry. Applicant may and should write about academic accomplishments, extracurricular activities, volunteer work, work experience, and financial need.
Our mission is to help create and mold distinguished adults by providing local students with a head start in their life journey. We hope this provides a teachable moment by rewarding good stewardship, paying it forward and early success for their future.

Must be between 250 and 600 typewritten words in a word processing format (for example a .doc or .docx file format OR copy/paste into the Please Copy/Paste Essay Here form field box below), 12 point font, double-spaced and numbered pages. Do not include personal identification on any page of the essay.
