Our Humble Beginnings...
In August of 1998 Jim Kyger and Mike Cummings were enjoying a lunch at Cripple Creek Country Club. The conversation turned to gratefulness and what we could do to give back to the community. That October, just three months, later we had our first CFAC golf tournament, reaching out to some other local friends and contractors to help. That first year we raised $8,000 and donated it to the American Diabetes Foundation.
After a few more years of profitable golf tournaments and the passing of Justin Jennings, Mike Cummings was approached by Craig and Mary Ellen Nantais to discuss their dream of a free beach house in Justin’s honor for families suffering from cancer. Viral wasn’t a word back then, but so it went. From that moment, CFAC was born, and all funds raised from events and individuals go right back into our local community. Since 2001, we have helped hundreds with our programs to support those in need.
