Our Mission & Essay Guidelines

Our mission is to help create and mold distinguished adults by providing local students with a head start in their life journey. We hope this provides a teachable moment by rewarding good stewardship, paying it forward and early success for their future.

Essay Guidelines

  • Must be between 250 and 600 typewritten words in a word processing format (for example a .doc or .docx file format).
  • 12 point font, double-spaced and numbered pages.
  • Do not include personal identification on any page of the essay. However, please include your name, address, and phone number when you apply.
  • Essay submitted should tell the selection committee:
    • Reasons for your career choice.
    • How it relates to the construction industry (if not directly, be creative).
    • You must include academic accomplishments, extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and work experience.
    • Financial need and how this scholarship will impact your future plans.
  • Finally, you must be continuing with education after high school, whether college, tech school or journeyman.  Please note this on your cover page or email body (same place as your contact information) but not in the essay itself.  We will verify this with your school counselor.

Deadline:
Essay must be email dated or postmarked by April 13, 2025.
All essays submitted become the property of Contractors For A Cause (CFAC). CFAC may publish information about, photos of, and all or parts of the essay submitted in any media.

Scholarships Awarded:
Three $4,000 scholarships will be awarded each year, one per high school mentioned above.

Volunteer to be on the CFAC scholarship committee.
